(19) Surrender of superseded and invalid certificates -Sec.389

  1. When a certificate under this Part has been superseded or is invalid from any of the causes mentioned in Section 386, the holder thereof shall, on the requisition of the Court which granted it, deliver it upto that Court.
  2. If he will fully and without reasonable cause omits so to deliver it up, he shall be punishable with fine which may extend to three months, or with both.

Summary of 1 & 2

When a succession certificate has been rendered invalid or superseded the nominee of the certificate shall on the request of the court deposit the succession certificate in the court. Failing which he shall be penalised under the IPC.
